Happy Friday, Conroe!
Halloween weekend is here, and we’ve got a couple of daytime stops for your candy-collecting crew, a new spot to catch the game, and a reader-recommended restaurant that gives back.
Here’s what’s happening in our backyard:
🚦 A traffic-signal upgrade designed to help emergency crews get through intersections.
🎓 Conroe ISD students team up to make sure classmates feel included.
🎃 Two Saturday Halloween outings for the family.
🍝 A new game-day gathering spot and a reader’s pick for Italian food.
🚦 Green Lights Ahead for Emergency Vehicles
Conroe approves a traffic-signal upgrade with Montgomery County.
Conroe City Council approved an agreement allowing Montgomery County to install technology that can turn traffic lights green for approaching emergency vehicles.
The system will also collect traffic counts to help officials improve signal timing. The goal is safer passage for emergency crews and better traffic flow for everyone else.
An installation date hasn’t been announced in the report.
🎓 Making Room at the Table in Conroe ISD
A new student advisory panel starts with helping classmates feel included.
Seventeen high school students gathered October 27 for the first meeting of Conroe ISD’s Superintendent’s Student Advisory Panel.
Representing every feeder zone, they’ll share ideas and help identify ways to improve their schools. Their first initiative, “No One Outside the Circle,” encourages students to welcome new classmates, invite others into activities, and make room at the lunch table.
Sometimes, making school better starts with a simple invitation.
